St George’s welcomes visitors from across the world to undertake a variety of activities, including conducting research, giving lectures, and acting as examiners. Most non-UK/Irish academics and researchers who wish to visit the UK can do so via one of the subcategories with the Standard Visitor Visa (SVV) system. The categories are: ·
- Business
- Academic – must be currently employed by academic institution overseas in a teaching/research role
- Permitted Paid Engagement (PPE)
- Short-term study.
Please complete the online form below to allow us to determine if the Standard Visitor Visa is the appropriate visa for the required visitor. If the activity or reason for the visit is not covered within these categories (for e.g. an internship) or if the length of the visit or how the visit is to be funded is outside the SVV rules, then contact HRhelp@sgul.ac.uk to discuss an alternative visa route.
Please refer to our Visitors FAQ before completing and returning this form to HRhelp@sgul.ac.uk together with a copy of the visitor’s current passport.
Visitors coming under the Academic, Business, Short-term study or PPE visitor routes are required to report to HR before the visit commences so that a copy of the passport and proof of the date of entry to the UK (for example, stamp in passport/boarding pass/flight or train ticket) may be copied.
